Make a Donation
Please consider donating to Campaign for Justice, contributing to the 2011 VLSP Art of Lawyering Gallery, or bidding at the Art of Lawyering silent auction in the fall of 2011.
By making a donation to Volunteer Legal Services Project, you help further our mission to provide free legal assistance to low-income individuals and families who need help resolving legal problems affecting their basic needs. Every day, in ever increasing numbers, low-income people in Monroe County turn to VLSP for help with complex legal issues. When you contribute to VLSP’s operating fund, make a planned gift or bequest to VLSP in your Will, you will make a real difference in the lives of many in our community who struggle with issues including domestic violence divorce, bankruptcy, foreclosure, grandparent/kinship custody, and standby guardianship for children of parents with life-threatening illnesses.
In addition to private donations, VLSP receives financial support from a broad base of funders and supporters. Our funders include United Way of Greater Rochester, Monroe County Legal Assistance Corporation and the New York Interest on Lawyer Account Fund. VLSP has received grants for civil legal services provision from New York State and for our work with HIV-affected families from the New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute. Through the annual Campaign for Justice, judges, lawyers, law firms, businesses and members of our community generously support VLSP operations.
Despite generous support from so many sources, the need for legal help far outstrips our ability to provide it.
If you would like information about making a planned gift or bequest to VLSP, please contact VLSP Executive Director Sheila A. Gaddis, Esq. at sgaddis@wnylc.com or 585-232-3051.
