Volunteer Legal Services Project (VLSP) provides free legal help to low-income residents of Monroe County, New York who are facing non-criminal legal problems. VLSP's services are provided by 1,600 pro bono volunteers who donate their time and talent to ensure that low-income people have access to the justice system when faced with serious legal problems.

This collaborative effort between VLSP and the Legal Aid Society of Rochester is a great opportunity for attorneys looking to gain courtroom experience. Volunteer attorneys assist tenants that are facing eviction proceedings by attempting to negotiate appropriate settlements. The City of Rochester has launched KIVA, a micro-lending program at zero percent interest. VLSP is proud to partner with the City and serve as Trustee for this program.
